Robbie you have in part answered your own question. Here discrimination is still the law. And I don't meant that it is just legal to discriminate against gay people. I mean that the various states still have laws on the books that require discrimination against gay people.

For example here in Florida gay persons may not adopt. This is just one example of many but you get the picture.

Many people don't do it because they're afraid of dissaproval from friends and family and just society in general. But quite a few Americans are 'out'. If gay marriage were legalized in more states, I'm sure just about everyone would come out.

I'm from Massachusetts i bet there are more people in this one state than there is in Holland now multiply that by 50. and you have had gay marriage for what ten years now. any movement has to begin some ware. some form of gay unions are the law in
better than 10% of the us. I'm willing to wager that more gay people can now have their civil unions or marriages recognized by t6he state than in all of the nether regions so get off your hi horse

We are admittedly a backward nation. But does that give you permission to flaunt the superiority of your own?
