Just saw that DVD, it is funny. But how can you add some style without blowing the budget. Where do you like to buy shoes? Are they all uncomfortable? At work I would rather focus on the mental demands of my job rather than foot pain.

this is what I do sometimes, I look through fashion magazines and pick pictures of outfits that I like the most, then when I go shopping for clothes I go to stores that aren't that expensive and I search for outfits that are similar to the ones from the picture. It's worked a lot of times.
Also, wacth this show, The look for less on Style, it's really good to teach you how to get that great looking without going broke.

Shoes:
Burlington Coat Factory (lots of cute shoes for a price you won't believe)
Bakers (a little on the expensive side, but GREAT shoes)
www.bakersshoes.com
Tj Maxx

Hope it helps!

The key to looking very stylish on a budget is to have great accessories: shoes, jewelrey, purses, scarves, etc. As long as you have some great basics, all it takes is some fun accent-pieces to look trendy and fashionable. You can find great accessories on ebay or in stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls, Wal-Mart, etc.

Payless (www.payless.com) makes some great copies of expensive shoes for a fraction of the price. Stilettos are never going to be extremely comfortable, but luckily, ballet flats are really trendy at the moment. These are great to wear to work and can be dressed up or down.

The trick to being trendy without breaking the bank is to get ideas from magazines or movies, like The Devil Wears Prada, but make the trends your own. You can almost always find almost the exact same pieces for much less at stores like Target, Payless, or Old Navy.

Definitely a movie for those who love fashion. Love her outfits,
My suggestions would be to try the outlet shops, if they are near to where you live, Buy a few better quality classic pieces in neutrals then you can accessorize to keep them fresh and "in". As for shoes, if you buy quality and get a good fit, they shouldn't hurt you. If you would like to have high end items, save up, they are not inexpensive, but you can try some online places like bluefly.com that have good deals from time to time and the online versions of Neiman Marcus, etc. have sales and clearanceb specials as well. The most important thing is to have FUN, find a few select pieces that work great for you and build a stunning wardrobe, piece by piece.
