we let the white and rich and powerfull in, we let alot in after Vietnam,,,, another of our "nonwars" are we going to do the same to our "friends" in Iraq,,, is it ok to go to war, lose, then let them all in? do we Americans get a say about that??

Bravo! and a thumbs up! If you're a stupid American so am I.
I'm disabled and live in Section 8 housing. I run a small accounting biz out of my home, pay taxes and my rent is based on "intended income" which is WAY more than I make, but half the complex is filled with illegals who don't pay ANY rent because they have so many SS#'s in use. Three doors down, there is a LARGE illegal family (8 working adults, and 3 little kids) in a 2 bedroom, they pay NO rent. The adults all drive '06 and newer cars. One guy bought a nicely pimped Escalade a couple days ago. One of the requirements of living here is not having over $5000 in assets.
I LEGALLY lived in a few other countries when I was younger, adventurous, and childless. But I followed the proper channels, so I could legally live and work outside the US. Its not a difficult process.
I'm not heartless towards immigrants, but there are procedures in place for a reason. People coming here under Political Asylum are one thing, but paying a coyote to bring you across in the back of a u-haul to find a better life is flat out wrong. I want a better life too, but I'm not going to break the law to do it. Illegal immigrants, are called that for one reason, They're breaking the law! I'm all for stricter immigration laws (and possibly stocking the Rio Grande with piranhas)

Though I'm the last person to answer your question, as I 've never been to US, I agree with John C and congratulate him for his opinion.

I strongly believe that immigrants have the right to choose a new place for a better life. There are so many countries where poverty or political chaos offer to their citizens misery and sadness. Most of the times those countries have been 'abused' by other more developed ones.
Of course, not all the immigrants are angels. There are cases where ppl travel to a new place just and only to continue their illegal activities. But, these are only exceptions.
The majority of the immigrants live peacefully and trying to have a legal normal life. Now, if some native citizens have been replaced by immigrants in their jobs, then they should think that this is happening because 'bosses' give less salaries to those ppl. Therefor, is the same natives who cause the problem..

And by the way nobody should complain about illegal immigrants, since all of us 'obey' to the New Word Order and Globalisation...

The United States is a country of great freedoms, and laws to protect our freedoms. With that combination, plus a capitalist economy, we are a nation offering great opportunities.

So when a person from an impoverished nation sees what is available here, what's wrong with entering the country legally?

And perhaps more to the point, how does breaking the law help one towards a better life? Isn't that like biting the hand that's willing to feed you? Do illegals think that it will never come back on them? Can one truly build a new life when that life is based on a lie?

While many illegals cross the borders for a better life, even more of them cross the border to take advantage of our welfare policies. Or worse yet, they occupy jobs to support their families back home.

I have no problem with legal aliens. But I have huge problems with those that would break the law to gain entry into our country. In and of itself, it shows a high disrespect for our country, and general apathy towards our citizenry. It displays a "me first" attitude that disregards all others.

There's plenty of opportunity here; why risk deportation by disregarding the laws of the U.S.? How does THAT help that family back home, or the illegal alien?

Far to many scouse borrow ids of dwelling and the useless of their quest for a larger existence this has additionally purpose harm to others whilst their identification is utilized by illegals a bunch of recent authorized disorders come up. The persons of Mexico hold to be liable for his or her disorders no longer us. They have the cash to care for their persons if no longer than they will have to follow for international aide. The excuse Mexico is corrupted, persons look to be announcing oh good that is the best way existence is. As it's Mexico see's no motive to difference the nation for the larger of persons. As lengthy as persons depart and ship a reimbursement the nation will certainly not difference and the persons will hold to return over through the hundreds of thousands and hold to send a reimbursement. Why hasn't the nation proven any benefit with the 50 or 60 billion being despatched again.

Unless you are native American everyone should have a right to come to this wonderful country. Everyone's ancestry is not from America unless you are Native American. So we are all descendents of immigrants who came to this land to do whatever. The only people who have it unfair are the Native Americans who were raped, diseased purposely, robbed and murdered by those who come to seek peace and prosperity. Now Native Americans have it the worst, they lost all their rights to this land, their home and now as Americans (sons and daughters) of immigrants have the right to say, "stay the hell out of our country?" Wasn't yours to begin with and if you believe you cannot compete against immigrants then you really should not be in the US. Perhaps some communistic, sociallistic, or fascist country would be better for you. For the rest of us Immigrants and sons of immigrants, we should welcome and accept those who want to come to the US to make this country better. Funny thing is, more immigrants fight in our millitary than domestic Americans now. What do we have to say about that?

why can't they become legal residents of the country, thats the issue i have...become legal, pay taxes like natural born citizens and everything else that goes along with being a citizen...my parents came to america over 50 years ago from greece and became citizens within a few years...i personally am tired of paying taxes to support everyine who comes here illegally, doesnt want to work....how about health care,i pay for my coverage, again im tired of supporting everyone...but why become legal when all one has to do is have a baby here,at tax payer expense and that child is automatically a citizen and here come more benefits for the illegals

YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT LIKE IN THIS COUNTRY UNLESS YOU ARE SENIOR CITIZEN TRYING TO DEAL WITH HEALTH INSURANCE AND PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. THERE ARE SOME OF US WHO CAN'T AFFORD TO RAISE THE KIDS THAT THEY COME ACROSS THE BORDERS TO HAVE AND ITS LEFT FOR OUR GOVERNMENT TO KEEP UP, BECAUSE THEY BECOME A CITIZEN WHEN THEY ARE BORN. I KNOW SEVENTY YEARS OLD PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT ABLE TO WORK, HAVING TO WORK TO MAKE END MEET. SO DON'T TELL ME THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT LIKE IN OTHER COUNTRIES. TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN.TAKE A TRIP UP TO ELLIS ISLAND AND TRY TO FIND SOME OF YOUR ANCESTORS. THE ONLY ONES YOU'LL BE ABLE TO FIND IS THE ONES THAT CAME TO THIS COUNTRY IN THE LAST 50 YEARS.
