Here is an easy way of doing it!

As 50 goes to 2.5 so 3000 will go to X

The equation is:

50/2.5 = 3000/x

And X = 3000 x 2.5/50

So X = 150 minutes

Or 150/60 = 2. 5 hours.

So the answer is “B”, two hours and thirty minutes

3,000 divided by 50 = 60 - 50 word blocks X 2 1/2 minutes for each blocke = 150 minutes total divided by 60 minutes in each hour = 2 hours 30 minutes to type 3,000 words. But, I thought even a bad typist could do 50 words a minute. I do over 80 and I learned in three days in the Army.

b. 2 hours and 30 minutes

50 words per 2.5 minutes = 100 words per 5 minutes
in 3,000 words...you have 30 - 100 word segments...30 x 5 = 150 minutes. That is 2 hours and 30 minutes...

take your calculator and divide 50 by 2.5
That gives you the number of words he can type per minute.
Then divide 3000 by the number of words he types per minute, and you have the total number of minutes. Convert minutes to hours and minutes.

a job that calls so which you would be able to type will regularly specify that a minimum of 60 wpm is needed. 50 wpm is in all probability quicker than uncomplicated, yet once you type on your activity that's no longer somewhat quickly adequate ;)

Figure out how many 50-word chunks are in the whole job and multiply that by how long it takes to do one of them.
