It will come down to keeping Hasek healthy for the playoffs. The Ducks are playing well now but us Red Wing fans can explain a thing or 2 about presidents trophies and Stanley Cups. Bottom line...the defense and goaltending are good enough, the question will be can they score playoff style goals (they need to find a rugged winger). Watch for a deal around the trading deadline, they cleared 2.5 mill when the league granted relief from Fischers contract. That will determine just how they stand for a playoff run.
GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way they're playing right now, pretty good but not really good, with the way the Western Conference is right now, they MIGHT make it through the first round but after that they'll probably go up against Nashville, San Jose, or Anaheim, who right now could put them away.
That power play needs to get better than what it is, even with Hasek there they're not scoring goals like it'd take to get deeper in the playoffs.

The Wings aren't the same like they used to. Hasek finished. Chelios is to old, and teams like Anaheim and San Jose match up them perfectly to beat them in the playoffs.

Detroit is having a few problems right now, but I think they will have a good run at it. I just wish that they kept Manny Legacy in stead of taking Dom back.

They'll do fine until they get to the Ducks. As much as it pains me to say so the Ducks are going all the way. It wil be the Ducks vs. the Preds and the Ducks are going to win. All of Canada will have a hissy fit because the Cup final will be between two teams that the Canadians don't think deserve teams. Go USA!!!!

They won't. Hasek will die of old age and they'll lose to Anaheim. Again.
Edit: "Anaheim? HA!"? That's a strange comment considering they're 14 points ahead of Detroit and first in the league. It's also hard to win when you're team can't score goals.

Playoffs. Who said they were going to make the playoffs. If they do Hasek won't play. That means more time in the states and he just wants to pick up a paycheck and go back to Prague.

Your question asks how poorly the "Deetroit" team will beat its competitors. Just thought you should know.
