Since I am a member of many pet forums I also see this same pattern over and over again.
There is an explanation.
Those of us who have a deep compassion for our pets answer the question with the welfare of the animal at heart. For example: A person has a very sick rat but "no money" to take it to the vet. The owner is seeking a home remedy. Well that's just too bad. The animal really does need to go to the vet. Some way, some how, the owner has to come up with the money, or make arrangements to make payments, and get that animal to the vet. As the pet owner it is your responsibility to seek medical help for an ailing animal.
You're right, this does sound rude, but we are only thinking about the animal at this point.
On the other hand, since I have joined Yahoo! Answers only this month, and I only answer pet questions, I have noticed a lot of people who do not know what they are talking about, and people who come in just to give the stupidest answers .........sigh......... are also here. Probably because they have too much time on their hands, and have nothing better to do then to harrass pet owners.

Animal lovers take offense immediately if they feel you are not doing your job correctly as a pet mom or dad. - you may be asking a real simple question that you really would like to know the answer about, but someone will come along and tear you a new one because they feel you should have the common sense to know that. Don't worry, you are asking for a reason, and that is good.- I think here on the Pet category certain people have been abusing the questions like- how do i cover the smell of a burnt puppy- i saw this one yesterday and the same idiot will probably answer yours too.So they are just being defensive and mean. Keep asking your questions, they are good and will help you out. If you want to know , ask away. .- and dont worry, those people that are rude are probably being rude in every other category because they feel they were put on this earth to know everything and think you are less of a human because you ask a question. ignore them! good luck

It is very likely because so many people have little tolerance for ignorance. This is not an excuse, but many of us in the pet world (ie: working for shelters or vets) see so many pets that aren't cared for, or that people can't afford, or that have health problems because people who breed don't do their homework and research, that it gets frustrating.
People think breeding is easy... Good breeding is not only not easy, it is very expensive. People who don't know what they are doing, should leave breeding to the experts.
Another huge source of frustration is when people have no money. Come on, if you can't afford basic pet care at your vet clinic, you shouldn't have a pet. All animals need vet care - sometimes expensive and long term care. You need to consider when you buy or are given an animal, whether you can afford a "worst case scenario". If the answer is NO - don't get one... or start saving for a pet and when you get about $5000 in an account... go get your pet and don't use that account for anything but vet care.
I don't know if this is the answer you are looking for, I'm sorry you have been answered rudely... some people think because the internet is anonymous they can say whatever they want. If you wouldn't be brave enough to say it to someone's face, you shouldn't put it on the internet!

Oh wow, there are so many answers to that question.
1. Everyone thinks they know THE BEST WAY to do things, and scoff at others who don't. This is not unique to the pet section.
2. A lot of the same questions get asked over and over and over again, just by different people. And people who are on a lot, feel that people should know better by now.
3. A lot of avid pet people get quite frustrated seeing people take on the responsibility of a pet BEFORE finding out how to properly care for it. A lot of the questions asked in this forum are along the lines of 'how do I take care of my sick pet?'
People need to just take a deep breath, and realize that everyone in the world doesn't think exactly the same as they do. An honest question deserves a straight answer, not attitude, or guilt trips.

I think sometimes it's because people ask questions that only require common sense. Animals can not take care of themselves and need us (humans) to care for them. Before you get a pet you should try to find out a little about that animal, not just get one and hope you can take care of it. Some people have no idea what to feed them or even the basics of animal care.
I'm sorry people are rude, but I think it's just out of frustration.

i do no longer understand what your question substitute into...yet i understand that it gets extremely tiring whilst human beings come at right here and are like..."i opt to reproduce my pomapoo with the neighbor's chihuahua and sell the domestic dogs and get wealthy!" once you have worked at a shelter and it particularly is been your job to hold the dogs and cats jointly as they are placed to sleep by using fact there have been no residences for them...even however they are completely healthful, alluring, youthful, and candy...properly, besides, as quickly as you have accomplished that, you would be waiting to make certain why human beings get slightly testy whilst some ignorant moron comes on speaking approximately how breeding exterior dogs is a robust thought... Oh...as for me in my view, the rudest subject all people advised me is that I ought to provide my dogs to an animal shelter by using fact i won't be able to arise with the money for to feed TimberWolf organic and organic form nutrition...LOL...ridiculous elitist bullcrap.

It's because Yahoo! Answers is filled with a lot of kids with nothing better to do I suppose. I'll admit I've been rude to some people in the past, but they deserved it lol. I'd just ignore those people, and now with the easy rating thing you can give them a thumbs down to make ya feel better :)
