Because they are always there, and we usually vent and take out our problems with them although we don't always mean too, we feel more comfortable when we get upset taking it out on them than strangers, or friends. Usually later on at some point we regret doing it, and that is when we should acknowledge that we were wrong and apologize. I'm sure we all do it from time to time, we are only human, so don't take it personal.

We sometimes hurt the ones we love because they are the closest to us.

I think its because we become so used to and fond of that person that we talk or express to them the way we'd do with ourselves...so eventually we dont realize what we might say may hurt them or be unsuitable for them.
In this case i think proper & effective communication is missin between both parties. If we understand eachother better through effective talking, listening, understanding and comprehending....we can think in a better way to express ourselves to that person.
If you love that person whether its family, friend or a lover...try to bring them closer to you and you bring yourself closer to them and that way you avoid hurting!
Merry Christmas!

This is what people do. Even in our well intentions. Sometimes the best thing we can do is keep our mouths shut and offer a shoulder to cry on!

usually people do things as a reaction form something and people may do odd and unreasonable things as a cry for help and loved ones would be the target because they are the ones listening to your cries for help.

Because you take that person for granted. You think they'll always be there so doing this won't make a difference. It is because you forget that they can still leave you.
