Have a look at the following two web pages:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torino_scale
http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/risk/
You'll find there are no known near earth objects that have any significant chance of bringing about the end of the world in 2012 (or any other year for that matter.)
These end-of-the-world people claim that "On the winter solstice of 2012, the noonday Sun exactly conjuncts the crossing point of the sun's ecliptic with the galactic plane, while also closely conjuncting the exact the center of the galaxy." Sounds ominous unless you realize it passes the same point every year. Big deal.
Remember the big deal about the year 2000? What happened then? Nothing catastrophic. I think we can safely predict the same for 2012.

There are at least a couple of hundred million years left before the sun collapses on us. Okay, a meteor may hit our planet but it is rather unlikely. The only threath we have to really worry about is Man. If we don't destroy Earth with pollution and wars, there is no reason to believe that the World ends within the next 20-30-40-50-100 years!
So invest in real estate and enjoy the moment!

December 2012 is the end of a sun spot cycle. At the end of these cycles the sun spots erupt into massive solar flares (which are charged particles) which travel through space and get caught in earth atmosphere. Earth's magnetic field catches them and deposits them in the North pole - we see them as the northern lights.
Supposedly that cycle will be especially harsh and many people think the planet is on the brink of a polar reversal because our magnetic field has been steadily declining since we began to record it. A harsh end to a sunspot cycle could trigger this. Also of note is that at the end of the last cycle in 2001 the sun itself went through a polar reversal.
I think in the worst case scenario the magnetic field which protects us from most UV radiation will be almost non-existent for some years. This won't be entirely harmful - mostly affecting your clothing. The Inuits (Eskimos) live in an area where they are highly exposed to UV Radiation - and they still exist.
The last true polar reversal that Earth experienced was about 750,000 years ago. I'm not sure how likely it is that we will experience one in 2012. This type of reversal will trigger massive tidal waves, earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, etc, etc. Earth would certainly be a tricky place to survive in this situation.

1.Do lose your head over it.
2. Read the Bible(Revelations) so you know what signs to look for.
3. After God(Jesus Christ) destroyed the earth with water, He gave us a rainbow as a sign of His covanant(promise) that He would not destroy the earth by water again. He said the next time He destroy the Earth, it would be by fire. So watch out for those volcanoes.

Many scientists believe our sun will go super-nova
around 3500. Your grandchildrens' grandchildren
won't even care. Asteroid ? Well, that is a different
matter. It is strictly a matter of chance, and odds are
good that we won't live to see that, either.
Our planet is due for another ice-age.
Guess what? Don't worry too much about that one, either.
As for being afraid, death is a part of life. Extinction is the
ultimate end to evolution. It is a cleansing re-birth.
Live well - Die well.

I've heard that the asteroid will hit us in 2029,but 2031 is better.Don't worry...I try not to think of that...Besides,by then I bet that technology will advance enough to stop someway the asteroid...Until then you don't have to worry. And you and I know that only God knows when the time is to end the world...Until then try (as I sayd before) to think of something else than things like end of world...How about asking yourself wich band you like the most?heh?

No, I believe if something like that was coming, it would be all over the news, world-wide. I wouldn't worry about that. If it is going to happen, then there's really nothing we can do about it, so we need to enjoy our life now, while it's here. Seriously, don't let it get to you. Every so often someone puts out some doomsday date....and it starts to freak out everyone that actually believe it. Best of luck to you.
