I'm trying to get a pet but my dad says i have to have one that can be kept in a cage.

U SHOULD GET A MICE RAT OR HAMSTER I HAD 2 MICE THEY WERE AWESOME. ...but I REALLY THINK U SHOULD GET A HAMSTER I HAVE A DWARF HAMSTER HE IS 2 YEARS OLD AND IS REALLY HEALTHY THEY ONLY NEED A CAGE WATER BOTTLE AND AN EXERCISE WHEAL AND YOU COULD BUY THEM A BALL FOR THEM TO RUN AROUND THE HOUSE THEIR REALLY GOOD COMPANIONS

None of them should be in a cage all the time. They're going to need to come out for an hour a day to get some exercise and socialization. Make sure that's okay, too.
Most kinds of birds, gerbils, hamsters, rats, ferrets and reptiles do well in cages or tanks.
Birds are pretty, but not very affectionate in most cases, same goes for reptiles. If you want friendly, you're best off with rodents. Rats are wonderful pets. If you treat them right and work with them, you can teach them to do tricks and they'll ride around on your shoulder. They're pretty cool.

hi umm ok u could have a hamster( i am getting one for Christmas cause my dad said the same thing!) or a mouse or rat or a gerbil, chinese hamster, birds, rabbits, Guinea pigs, ferrits,

hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, snakes or other reptiles(actually a tank for these), birds, rabbits, sugar gliders, ummm..... yeah thats all i can think of right now, i'm sure i'll think of about 20 more later, but..... here's a start oh, and hedgehogs

Rats can be the easiest, quietest, and have the best personality overall. But any animal will need to be cared for.
