Why do people continue to answer posts with the correct answer if the question has already been aswered with the definitive answer. (or am I being pedantic because I haven't been able to give that definitive answer yet?)

by the time I've typed it,spell checked it and read it,,all these other people from this very big planet have already beaten me to it,,arghhhhh :-)

Even correct answers are subjective. You will most likely get several answers to this question and many of them will probably be right. If you actually take the time to pick a "Best Answer", a diversity of opinions makes it easier for you to single out one from the others.

People who throw out repetitive simple answers to cut and dry questions are just point mining.

Sometimes the answer is not posted when they respond, other times, they want to add their tuppence (as I often do, summing up the good ideas from others), and often they just want the blasted two points.

Because everyone has an opinion and this is what we do here give our opinion. And no one really looks to see what other people typed and who cares anyone. So basically we don't care. And then there are those that just want the points. shh... we aren't suppose to talk about that.

At the time they answer, there may be no answers shown.
Many "correct" answers are wrong.
You get 2 points anyway.

for the points of course.plus sometimes as you are writing your message there are no other answers then when yours is submitted there are ten before you
