100% yes! I am in my late 30's and I love it. I have one for myself that I bought used for $100. I also bought 2 new ones for my kids. They love the DS Lite as well. It's really easy to play because its not as bulky as the originally DS and easier to hold & play. The screen is much brighter and easier to see. These 2 reasons are both reasons to go get one right away- but the price is much less then other portable games systems out there like the PSP. The PSP is more for the base unit and doesn't offer much in the was of how many games are available. The selection is much less then the DS and usually the games are better on the DS. I like how the interaction between the player and the game works. For example, you have a stylist that you use with many of the games and other games where it requires you to yell or blow on the DS to play the game. Also, you can go to any re-sale location and get a huge selection of already played discounted games. The DS also has Wi-Fi so you can play against someone anywhere in the world. The DS has all the features that any of the others have including the graphics and cool games, but its the most popular game system of choice because of all the reasons listed above. I would with out a doubt recommend the DS Lite!
Hope this helped! Best wishes!

no because you could get a used DS (not lite) at gamestop for $80 or $90 bucks, (they saidd it would go back to $80 after christmas), which is the same thing, just a little bit less bright, but its more than enough (think GBA SP), and the largeness is not an isue since the lite is still pretty big...save $50 bucks, get a DS (which rules, new mario bros, Asphault, Golden eye roge agent, age of empire, metroid prime hunters, nintendogs, mario kart ds, FFIII, and more

Yes, You can get the original one. There's no difference except that the NDS light is flat at the top and has a really fat pen. Both have the same games. But the original one is cheaper. You can still play Animal Crossing. I know this because I have a NDS original and Animal Crossing.
