I am experiencing numbness in my little finger and ring finger and half of my left hand. I've tried shaking my hand and flexing my fingers, thinking maybe it was just the way that I had positioned my hand, but nothing will stop the numbness. It just started happening today, but it's been several hours. What could be wrong, and how can I fix it? Please help!

I too have numbness and other symptoms in the same area. Your problem might not be the same as mine, but mine is called cubital tunnel syndrome. The ulnar nerve can get pinched either at the elbow or neck causing these things. If your elbow region is the cause, try to advoid putting pressure on the area, like leaning your forearm or elbow on a computer desk(a towel for padding underneath may help). When possible, keep your elbow from bending. If you have the habit of sleeping with your elbow bent, try making a splint using a towel or pillow then taping it in place for sleep.Just like the more familiar carpal tunnel, repetative motion can make it worse and if not relieved may lead to needing surgery. Hope this helps. I learned quite a bit about it not from the neurologist I just saw today, but from running cubital tunnel syndrome through search engines.

they are right it could be a pinched nerve that is the cause . a chiropractor can help that . but it could be something else do you have pain anywhere if so go to a Dr and have him check you for any blockages . maybe all you need is an adjustment

well, its not carpal tunnel because that affects every part of your hand except the last half of your pinky finger. If it starts turning colors, then go to er, if not, wait until you can get in to see your regular md.

I agree with everyone else. It's probably a blood circulation problem. Maybe it was left in a position, and it fell "asleep." Yeah. A blood circulation problem.

It could be any number of minor things, but if it lasts over a day, I'd make an appointment to see a doctor.

You could have carpal tunnel from overuse. Is it numb at night, too?

sounds like a circulation prob or a pinched nerve. if you go to a doc, and it's already gone away, chances are they'll never pinpoint what caused it, go soon.

It could be poor blood circulation. Take one aspirin, NOW, and see your doctor ASAP.
