Aganist Voltorb, electrike and Manertic, use a ground type or a rock type. Geodude or graveller is good in this fight.
For magenton, he's Wattson's powerhouse. Come with a fire type with good defense (and evolved). Combusken is good here as long as its on a high level, or camprut.
Electrics are weak aganist rock/ground
Steel types-weak aganist fire.

You only need 2 but they both need to be at least 18, Breloom for Magneton, a ground type or grass type (if grass needs to be 20 or over) my suggestion for the ground type would be Aron (i know hes not ground) or a Geodude or Graveler.

If you chose mudkip as your starter, have it evolve into marshtomp which is part ground. Nincada can be caught naturally in the grass but it may not learn any good ground attacks. Any rock types you find will be useful too. But, take my advice and use cheat codes!!!
