I did this with my fiancees kids and it was very inexpensive and they enjoyed it a lot! Cut out shapes from heavy paper like cardboard or posterboard, like a snowflake or xmas tree or even a snowman, then have squares of tissue paper that they can glue onto the shapes that you have for them. Yes, you can use elmers glue, which would be the best for kindergarteners. There are candy cane reindeer, clothespin reindeer or angels too. Check out the website www.familyfun.com. There you will find a lot of art and craft ideas as well as food ideas for children of all ages.
You could also try making Reindeer food for them to bring home and on Christmas Eve, they could use this for the Reindeer to feed them. All it is, is oatmeal, cookie sprinkle and glitter. Just have them mix up some of these things in a ziploc bag and shake it up. Its that simple!

Have each child bring in a small, clean, dry jar with a lid. Pour some heavy cream into each jar and have them shake their jars until the cream turns to butter. Serve for a snack later, on crackers or toast points. S'mores cost very little to make....just a box of graham crackers, a bag of marshmellows and a couple of Hershey bars....probably less than $5.00? A box of Chex cereal, a bag of chocolate chips and some powdered sugar will make a lot of Puppy Chow candy....melt chocolate chips in microwave and pour into a bowl full of Chex cereal and toss until cereal is coated. Then put the chocolate-covered mix into a zipper bag with powdered sugar and toss until all coated. Pour out onto cookie sheet so chocolate can "cure".

My grandson is in Cub Scouts and they did an activity that was kind of cute. They each took off a shoe and traced around their foot. Then they traced each hand. The foot becomes the face of a reindeer and the hands become the antlers. Glue on a cotton ball or pompom for a nose and wiggly eyes. with a little help with tracing and cutting, it might work for kindergarten kids.

I was a pre-K teacher and every year we made "Snowman Soup" to give as gifts. Lots of fun to make, every child would bring in a Holiday coffee cup to use. (In case some children forgot or could not afford a coffee mug, I picked up some mugs at the Goodwill Store for $0.50 each)
