hi hunni, ignore all the anti abortion people on here...youre right, they dont know nothing of your situation to be making comments like that. im from the uk and although i havent had an abortion, i do know that its day release hun. but you will need someone to drive for you as you will have general anesthetic more than likely, if you are not too far gone, under 9 weeks i think, you can have the abortion pills, but you will have to talk to your doctor about that. is there a specific reason why you have to come to england hun? im confused on that one. but like i said, if you are under 9 weeks then you can go to your normal doctor and get the abortion pill. good luck, xxx

Sorry about the terrible answers you're getting.
I concur with 'you need to call the clinic you're going to,' but -- probably not very long. A lot depends, I think, on how you're planning to travel. I don't know how up for a windy ferry ride I'd be, but I could get on a plane without much complaint not too long after. She may be the opposite, though -- ask her, not us.
This page:

looks like where you want to start -- see esp. links to abortion provider info. The whole situation must suck; you have my sympathy.
I haven't had an "abortion" per se, at least not the one these "An' then they chop the babies' legs off while it's still breathing!" nut jobs are thinking of, but I did have a D&C following a missed abortion (attention nut jobs: look it up, please -- miscarriage to you). Given that I was already in pain, it wasn't an easy deal; I was in the hospital overnight. But. I could've gone home if I had to, and did with painkillers but without problems the next morning, after having had the surgery around dinnertime. Personally, I'd book into a nice hotel for at least a day, but it's probably not completely necessary.

People! Stop judging. Sometimes a woman can get pregnant on purpose only to find out there is something decidedly wrong with the fetus or pregnancy. Walk a mile in my shoes before you pass judgement please. As for the question. I'm not sure what the situation is really but most often it's a day procedure in Canada and you just need a couple of days of rest afterward. Good luck!

dont abortion is murder. a child is a blessing notsomething youc an get rid off. if you dont want the baby go throught the pregnancy then adopt it to someone who wants a baby and cant.
if u didnt want to get pregnant then why arent you using any protection. abortion is not a form of birth control although so many women who have unplanned pregnancys seem to think it is.
abortion should be used when there is good cause too i.e a baby has a serious defect and wont survive the birth or if a wmoan gets raped and gets pregnant. these are the only times i think abortion should be used and i wish they would change the law.
please think about this as you may regret it for the rest of your life. will you be able to live with this knowing that you killed your baby.

it depends on a lot of things. like what type of termination you would be having. there is medical or surgical. the type of termination you have depends on how many weeks pregnant you are. i think a surgical termination is a day case but you might be advised to stay in the country for a little while to rest. for a medical termination you will need about a week or so because you have to take medication a few days appart. i would deffinately find the clinic you want to use and ring them. depending on which part of ireland you are coming from maybe you could find one in liverpool. i hope this helps.

You should know better than to ask a question like that on here. Putting "abortion" in the subject line really the kind of people who are unlikely to be of any help to you whatsoever. If you really did get your girlfriend a trip to Paris for Christmas (your last questtion) then can't she go at that time?

We can't answer that for you. You need to find the number of a clinic (or the clinic you want to use). Then call them and tell them you are comming from out of country. Ask how long they suggest staying in England until you can fly home. They'll know how to answer this much better than anyone here.

Your life will never be the same if you decide to take the life of your child. You will never be able to forgive yourself, trust me! I can't believe you would think that killing a child is okay! This has inspired me to stand up against this kind of thing and press for those who do it to be charged with murder.

Do you realize what they do to kill a baby. The cut off its limbs and let it bleed to death, or poison it, or burn it. Imagine if you could see it screaming in sheer pain crying so hard and the one person he or she loves so much is the one killing them. Don't kill the kid let someone adopt them. I wish life was fair and people that would actually do something like that where the ones that didnt get the chance to live. It is just like the fact that the drunk driver never dies it is the innocent person he hits
