Hi, Does anyone know any info about hydrocloric acid pills that you can take if you dont have enough stomach acid? I was watching a show and it sounds like all the symptoms I have and she said to take digestive enzymes and acid pills and it will help.
Any info appreciated.

Hydrochloric acid comes in pill and capsule form. It's most commonly used by people over 45. Usually burping is the first sign of stomach problems. Also heartburn which is the same symptom except it expands the stomach like a ballon and forces it up against the heart. If you have stomach problems, its a sure bet your need to think about your intestines and colon. Enzymes helps digest meats, carbohydrates and oils in the intestines. Acidophiles helps the bacteria get active in the intestines and colon. For those people who are constipated, find a mild herbal laxative. The last resort is an enema. Drink lots of water in any case. Eat raw fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, and grains. Stay away from sugar, alcohol, preservatives. And you thought this was going to be an easy answer. lol

sure HCL or hydrocloric acid - you can do a test to see if you need them, by injesting one before meals, and see if that alieviates your stomach complaints.

Another better technique is in Patricia's Bragg's arsenal - ACV or Apple Cider Vinegar. This also increases the HCL. Put 1tsp in a cup of hot water with some honey, and sip between meals, throughout the day, whenever. You can also fast very effectively with this technique. Check out the Bragg's site.

Digestive enzymes are good. You have to first figure out what you are having difficulty digesting.
There are many formulas for grains, legumes, dairy, vegetables, and various proteins. Additionally, you may need Tripsin and a good formula like Wobyzyme may be perfect.

Both the Braggs ACV or any organic apple cider vinegar and the Wobyzyme can be taken safely with no bad effect.

If you want more info, find a good naturopathic doctor or ayurvedic practicioner. The ayruvedic people will recommend triphala, and digestive bitters. They also recommend eating 1tsp of minced ginger before meals to aid in digestion.

Best of luck!
