It is loud and annoying and glorifies drugs and crime and degrades women. People who blast it from their cars are the rudest and when they are at a stoplight, it is imbarrasing to me as a lady to have to hear that kind of language especially when I am with my daughter. Isn't it just pure trash?

Yes, I couldn't agree with you more, I have a friend who sings these horrible song's about sex and women, and I'm just like "don't you relize what your saying" and she will say "what's wrong with it? It's just a song" to me it's really sad that she's degrading herself and making it seem ok for boys to talk to her like that and she doesn't even relize it, but there is some rap music that is good and show's real emotion, but then that artist goes and messes it up with some crap.

so it's not your taste, get over it. you have a handy dandy little option called rolling up your window. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it is absolute trash. So what if you think they are being rude, welcome to America, everyone here is rude and concerned with THEIR day to day life and no one else's.
There is nothing wrong with rap. Some of the artists of rap music bring a talent that you nor I can dupicate. Sit down and listen to a variety of rap music. There is a rhyming scheme in many pieces that I am sure you could not copy or create on your own. Just because the artist doesn't sing soprano or tenor doesn't mean they are any less talented than other legendary artists.
If you sit down and actually pay attention you might notice that many songs from rap artists are telling you the absolute truth about the society we live in and not sugar coating it for the white picket fence livers won't have to own up that they also helped create this nightmare world by ignorance. You say they glorify drugs and violence....I say they bring it to the forfront and force people to realize that innercity life is not a beautiful place. That it can be just as deceitful as rural life.

Such a sad little person you. You need to expand your mind a bit and actually listen to some of it...some of it may be very offensive, and some of it may be quite good. And I'm guessing if you daughter is a teenager, chances are, she knows the lyrics to almost all of the songs. I listen to that, I listen to hip hop, heavy metal, pop, alternative...hell, right now, I have my xm online radio tuned into a classical music channel. Why? Because I don't limit myself to one genre. Hasn't it been said that variety is the spice of life? eh...closeminded people really don't understand that I guess.

Nope, its just like any other way expressing a music, I am not a rap fan nor hater, there some songs that I like, and not all using the languages you are talking about, but 99% does.
Rap music has really nice Melody(well, some of them) And not all has inappropriate video clips there are many has and not rap, well hip hop has sometimes inappropriate video clips, well just try to avoid them.
alright? its really the best solution.

I agree with you about the state of music today. It's a pure garbage. Listen to a rap music. Any one can pick up a broken guitar and can sing with his broken voice.

greatest pile of cr@p? ok, i am going to imagine of one or 2 videos that represent huger piles of cr@p, yet customarily, convinced...rap is senseless and valueless. i imagine the in effortless words way that those rappers can get scantily clad women to be of their video clips is to rhyme words. I can't understand any of the word, excepts once in a while I can hear a cuss word. It is awful and the sentences are repeated over and over again. Yep, you are 100% accurate.
