many mix up IQ with book smarts.

IQ is the ability to look outside the box or the common sense of a person.

IQ doesn't really follow colors. I myself am trying to figure out what causes IQ. My family is average, all around 115's I'd say. But my one uncle is a 172 and was taken in by NASA back in the 70's as an engineer. I myself was about a 115 till I got meningitis. Since that disease, my IQ has increased multiple points every year. Why?

I know its based on how the brain is wired and how fast the connections are...but something more has to be there. Why can I increase mine without trying due to a disease and why is someone like my uncle so high in IQ when his parents and all siblings are normal.

Be happy he has a high IQ.....means you might encounter a high one later in your life or your child might end up with a high IQ.

Knowledge is power.

PS - love all the racist comments....show how few actually know anything. As many books report that blacks do hold a lower IQ worldwide than any other color. Is this racist? No...just facts in books, nothing more.

Sad that so many take just the word "blacks" and automatically claim racism is happening. That alone is racism people.

Wikipedia is a very poor source for factual information, as anyone can edit the pages there to say whatever they want.

Also, note that different IQ tests use different scales. A given value of IQ is meaningless without knowing what test it came from.

What's up with you? Are you racist? Oh, my IQ is over 200. But really. It doesn't matter what race you are. There are a lot of smart black guys out there. It doesn't matter. It is possible because there are no boundaries. Who know? Maybe there was something in the way he was raised that somehow clicked open his mind. Maybe some genetics decided, Hey, let's make this guy smart.
It's all something to do with anything. Hopefully, that gene will be passed down in your family. It might skip some generations, but it will pop up again.

Yeah well my dad was really smart too -- and he was white. Will wonders never cease.

Your question sounds like race is thought to be somehow a factor in intelligence.

You put the decimal point in the wrong place 17.0. That would still make him the worlds smartest nigra. Because most un white people have an IQ about the same as a cardboard box
