It depends on your financial situation. If you feel at ease, then get no job. On the contrary, if you are in a not so comfortable situation, then think of this job as the salary that will buy you some fun like FRiday and Saturday evenings, or maybe you'd want to buy that digital camera or camcorder, or computer...

Or, just earn some extra money for a summer travel to Europe or South America.

Or, if you have some student loans, just make some extra money to repay that debt when you graduate.

It depends on your course of study and the free time that it will allow you to have and on the type of person you are. I was a theatre major for a few semesters and working while doing plays is impossible. There were so many missed opportunities. I switched majors and found myself with a lot more free time - having a job seemed to help my grades as well. I spent a lot less time partying since I had so much other stuff going on. I think it helped me out. I also made some great money working, so I was able to buy a lot of things other college students can't (at least not without Mom and Dad's credit cards and such ...).

I advise you ask other people with the same major as you - people who are further along can let you know how much free time for work to anticipate having.

There could be a couple of reasons. My father insists that I should have a job while I go to school to help build character. Another reason is that a lot of people can only consintrate on 2 aspects of their life at once. School and work or School and social. School and work is just a bit less self destructive. You can also get a job in whatever field your working in to gain experience.

The only reason that should matter is wether or not you need the money. If you don't need it, don't get a job. It is a major stress reduction not haveing to worry quite so much about obligations.

It depends on your fincial situation. If your parents are paying for it or you recieved a scholarship to pay for tuition and books, many college goers will still vouch for getting a job. Depedning on your course load and if you can handle the stress. Some people can do it others can't. If you don't want to work during the school year you can always work during the summer and save money. You'll need it, regardless of wether you live at home or stay on campus.

Things for including tuition;
1) Personal itmes
2) Bills (if you have to pay cell bills, insurance etc.)
3) Food-a big money burner
4) Going out with friends
5) Entertainment (movies, CD's etc.)
6) Christmas and Birthday presents
7) Emergency money.

because university constantly costs money for books, and supplies, and etc. not to mention gas money. im not in college yet, but i've heard. It's quite expensive. Everything costs money these days, so the money will help, and im sure that parents wont want to give a lot of money every year for you when your perfectly capable of getting it yourself. and plus it could help you learn buisness techniques for life when your older.
