You'd have to get a power converter, the power cord wont fit in their receptacle.

Unfortunately, you're going to discover it is a real pain to have an American PlayStation while living in the UK. There are 2 problems: compatibility and voltage. American voltage which is 110-20V is different from Europe which is 220-240V, so if you plug your PlayStation without an adapter, it will be busted. Second, you cannot play British games on it because they are in a Pal format while your device only accepts NTSC format. Third, you have to have a multi system TV or an NTSC TV while there to be able to use it. Overall, you are better off buying a new one if you plan to live in the UK for a while. I had bought one that worked on both systems, so we could still use it when we moved back to the States. Hope this helps.

If you are talking about the PS3 then you will only need a converter (all PS3 games are NOT region-locked). If you get a PS2 or PS1 then you will have to find a way to get games from America...because those games are not in PAL (you will also need a converter).

Duh. Of course you can play British games on a New Zealand XBX because New Zealand and Britain uses the same region code, PAL.

Yes, you can use an American PSX in the UK, but you can't play British games on it because American PSX has the NTSC, while UK uses PAL. You'll also need to get a converter for the electrical outlet.
