I go to the nude beach, so it's not an issue for me, but if I had to wear a bathing suit I'd definitely go as minimal as possible, which would be a g-string from one of the micro distributors such as Wicked Weasel.
If you can't be naked on the beach or at a pool, then (assuming that you've got the body for it and are OK with being nearly naked) go for the most minimal available.

I wear thongs but i dont wear g-strings and i prefer those rather than granny pannies, i also wear the little underwear shorts that are cut short in the back

I think they are disgusting and gross. And I hate the thong sticking out of the jeans look, especially when it's a MOM with a kid in tow....how unclassy can one get!

I used to wear thongs but prefer to go commando style now and I'm not kinky, nasty nor do I have any infections.

girls don't want there panty line to show so they wear one.
I don't like them at all but some girls really like them.
if you are planing on getting one for a girlfriend think twice.
75% of girls that get one from there boy friends dump them.

personally, i don't like em. i think it gives the wrong impression of a person and i think it looks cheap and slutty. besides they are always stuck up your buttt. NOW THAT IS NASTY!
