i have been e-mailing a woman from the city of Ryazan and it just seems she is too desperate to come and live here. she has a better than average wage and a good family but would give it all up to come here when she doesnt know me that well.

The vast majority are not desperate at all. I'm English but live in Russia and they are interested in the UK but love their own country. Some are desperate enough to marry some random British man but they are generally the dregs of Russian society.

I would think very desperate in some cases, what with marrying any bloke that agrees, or takes her money, it is sad but I think there is a shortage of men in Russia and the future does not look as bright as it could.
