You get the xbox live gear you need for xbox live, but you have to purchase a gold card in order to play with other ppl online. I think it comes with a silver card that lets you chat with ppl online, but can't play games online. For sure you need to purchase a gold card witch is $9.99 for a month, 19.99 for 3 months, and 49.99 for a 12 months (a year). You can purchase them from places like gamestop, gamecrazy, best buy, etc.

Ive heard that u get like a free year or somthin. I believe the ps3's is free.
