I want to buy something in case my computer crashes. If anyone has any recommendations of what back up system is affordable and still reliable please let me know. Please also include a rough estimate of what I am probably going to pay. Thanks!
I have a Compaq computer if that makes any difference. :)

I highly recommend you to use Acronis True Image for backup purposes> True Image is very reliable software which can backup operating system, important data, Outlook files, applications' settings and media library. In case you want to backup your OS only I recommend you to create bootable media but in my opinion the best location for backup is an external hard drive. So you'll need 50 bucks for software and 100 bucks for external drive= 150 total.

I can recommend you to use Acronis True Image. This program can backup your entire PC or separated files and program settings (Outlook, Mozilla, iTunes and more). So after installing True Image you can be quite calm for your contacts, documents, photos, program settings and another important data. I think True Image is the best backup software for now. You could buy anything from a DVD-RW drive or CD-RW drive to a tape backup drive or an extra hard drive. You could get an extra hard drive and a DVD-RW drive in case of the extra hard drive failing, and make regular backups on DVD-s. That's my solution, and it works, since power failures and fluctuations degrade the components' lifetime severely.
