Probably not worth everything they paid him.
But he will get them a few more wins.

The Sox can't let the Yank-me-s buy EVERY player.

He probably will not be worth it. The only thing the Red Sox achieve is not letting this guy become a Yankee, which would be more of a matter of pride than anything else. They spent a lot of money for an unproven pitcher.

Who knows right now if he will be worth it. I feel much better about the sox rotation for next year now that they signed him. The real problem with is not the over paying for an "unproven" pitcher but the over paying for an a often injured outfielder and short stop. (ie JD Drew and Julio Lugo)

Ny, some are projecting him to win the Cy Young atleast once in his six year term. You say he is bad because he signed with the Sox? He is several notches above the guy the Yankees bought for 26m + contract.

Dice K, if not worth the money in wins, will be worth it in Japanese Revenue.

I think the Red Sox have to worry about the strength of his arm. He has thrown a lot of innings.

He was not worth it. He is going to start slumping in the MLB. Sure he is the best in Japan, but that is only Japan. Japan has no competition compared to the MLB, so he will just be like an average pitcher when he starts pitching in the MLB. There will be nothing special for him, so he shouldn't have gotten that extra money.

Possible both ways. But every team is going to make sure he isn't worth the money.

Over 100 Mill just to get him? Please, the closest pitcher to that much would be Johan Santana, and he's only gettin paid 21 Mill with a possible bonus.

i dont think so, all i gyro-ball is is a Screwball, which most MLB players have seen at times, i think he just isnt worth the money, he doesnt realize the difference of baseball talent in the US than Asia, sure there are some prospects but look who we have here, especially in the American League. one pitch cannot make a good pitcher (except for nolan ryan and a few others)
