it was a phrase coined by Professor Boomer Flatulence in the 1780s as a response to the popular "whovever denied it supplied it", and was meant to turn the tables on a person who would remark about a foul smelling emission as if to deflect accountability. Apparantly the professor's wife was also famous for vaginal farts, which are frequently misconstrued as anal air explosions.

The meaning is if some-one smells a fart, that it was them who farted! (even though it never is) Dont know the origin though, as it's only a fun phrase!

when a person lets gas , the first one who smelt It is the one who passed it.
