I replaced the 35 year old lux aire furnace in my house with a 83% amana in october...this bad boy is LOUD. It was installed by pros, and it is in a seperate room in my basement.
I have a little living room in the basement, and this thing is so loud that I have to turn up the TV when it kicks on.
Do you know , if in general new furnaces are louder?
The furnace works great, and my gas bill has gone down 20%..its just LOUD.

Contact your installers and complain. They might have mis-mounted the furnace and check where the air is sucked in by the furnace the larger the return the less work the furnace has to do the quieter, like i said complain to the installers. Oh was it installed in the attic or a closet. I've seen alot of people get them installed in the garage just so they wont have to listen to the noise of "BOOM" ON. And what noise do you hear, the air or the actual furnace. Should have gone with variable speed.
