Play a game with him: each of you sit down, backs to each other, and write down a list of your favorite things: favorite foods, favorite colors, favorite places, etc, however many favorite things you can think of in one minute. Don't worry about labeling the items, because you can do that afterwards, so if your favorite vacation spot is Tahiti, you would write down tahiti, and then afterwards write next to it what kind of favorite it is.

The one minute is important because it makes (or is supposed to help make) you concentrate on the really favorite things, because those will be the ones you remember more easily. Afterwards, take his list and make a favorite xmas bag or basket for him, full of things related to his favorites list. Its personal and it shows that you care about the things that are important to that special someone in your life, the things that they care about.

What are his interests/favourite activities? Try iwoot.com for some real cool stuff. Worse come to worse, get him a voucher for a practical shop. If you want to get him something sweet and mushy, try a soft toy or cuff links or maybe jewellery. More typical stuff will be a tie or socks.. but doubt anyone will seriously get their boyfriend that. Best will just be to get something he can use. Computer gadges if his into IT, a new helmet or a nevisport voucher if he likes climbing. New goggles if his a swimmer.. stuff like that. Good Luck!
