The date is way off. The Romans (or Greeks) started it a while after Christ had died .One of their leaders believed in the theology of "one God", there was already a pagan festival around this time so he used this as a way of uniting the many religions. you'll get different stories from different people, my advice ,if you re really interested is to ask a Jehovah's witness, they know a whole lot more about this stuff than most people, I was one for a while and we did a lot of research into this subject. You may be surprised by what you find ,I know I was.
