This isn't a true or false question, it's a yes or no question. Yes, it's possible to slide down a banister.

true, how do you think I get to the door to answer it, get to my room, go to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and how do you think I am telling you this on the computer? By taking the stair? Oh, the reason banisters where made, were to slide down them in 1854.

Yeah, it's great fun except if there's a newell post. I've even managed to slide down the stairs themselves, luge style but that's pretty hard to do.

no, you can ride down a hand rail but a banister is the part that runs along the top of the stair well [stops you falling down it]
