After a d&c, how long does is took for the pregnancy hormones to go back down to 0?

I miscarried 6 weeks ago, had my d&c 4 weeks ago, but I haven't gotten my period yet. I bled for almost 2 weeks after the procedure. When I went to my appointment on the 1st of December, the doctor told me I was ovulating and I should start my period in the next week. I never did, and I just got a positive pregnancy test. Is it because the hormones aren't back down to zero or is there a possibility I'm pregnant?

We have had sex since the d&c. It was ok'd by my doctor, and we've been using bc.

Have you had sex since? B/c normally you have to wait 3-4 weeks before you can even have sex again. You might still have some of the pregnancy hormone in you, but if you've had sex then you cold be pregnant again. The only way to know is to have a doctor do a blood test or an ultrasound. B/c as early as 3 wks they can see something.

Then if I was you I'd go to the doctor and have them do a sonogram so you know for sure.

You're most likely pregnant. Go have blood work done.

It would be unlikely for you to have enough of the HCG hormone in your body to trigger a pregnancy test AND to allow for ovulation.

I'd go have blood work done. It sounds like you're probably pregnant.

You are probably pregnant. It is very easy to get pregnant after a miscarriage.
I wouldn't have thought that the positive test is due to your previous pregnancy
