The email subject was 'none'. There was no return address, even when I opened the email. There was only my address in the 'To:' space. It's scaring me because we are being stalked,late night knocks on the door, now this. Any ideas?

I wouldn't worry about the E-mail, probably from a spam company and it was a computer glitch. however I would worry about the stalking. I say learn self-defense, but that may take too long, so get mase, pepper spray, or a stun gun (I have a stun gun)

This isn't harmful. Anyone can write an email with their return address in the "from" field, and with a body of text like a normal letter, but sometimes the subject field can be left blank, as if they forgot to put what the email was about.

If you are being stalked contact the police. Keep a record of everything.
