The normal appointment is to check on the baby's progress and your health. They make sure your blood pressure is fine and blood work is normal. During the pregnancy they will schedule ultrasounds at different intervals during the pregnancy tro see how the child is developing inside of you.
You may find it hard to get a ob/gyn (pregnancy doctor) doctor to take you on as a new patient being that you are 4 months pregnant now. Alot of doctors like to see you when you firsat become pregnant and follow you until delivery. Due to the large number of lawsuits these specialists are subjected to, they shy away from taking on new patients that have an advanced pregnancy and have not had any pregnancy care. If you have been seeing a doctor in Indiana then inform the doctor and have your records sent to him.
You may want to look at Planned parenting, or Pregnancy clinics that are set up in Miami for teenage pregnancies. They can help you with your pregnancy and advise you.
Good luck

You are 14 and are 4 months pregnant. First off get on Medicaid so that you can pay a doctor. Next call a local planned parenthood clinic. These people do more than abortions and can direct you to a doctor who accepts Medicaid payments. Next get on WIC so that you are eating properly and when the baby comes he or she can eat properly. While you are on Medicaid get some counseling you are way too young to be going through this and are way, way too young to take on the lifetime care of a child. If you decide to keep the baby you will need mountains of advice on how to raise a child. Again more counseling.. Most important of all if you are not in school get back in school and stay there. The best thing you can do for you and for your child is get a good education. Good luck and may God bless you.

You mean to tell me you are going to trust people you have no idea who they are?

You want us to give you better advice than your parents, school counselors, teachers, aunts, uncles or the cousin that's in the same situation can give you???

Aren't they helping you know? Do they even know?

If you're scared, the people that LOVE you will help you. But you must talk to them and tell them you're scared...

Go ahead, right now, tell someone in your family, someone that will give you a real big hug and look you in the eye and say we're going to get thru this thing together.

I wish all the best for you (and your cousin).

ask around to people that you know what doctor they have used. at your appointment you will probably get a pelvic exam and the will run test. you will probably get blood drawn and tested for genetic disorders. there are other tests later also. every doctors is different in what tests they do.
