I love my best friend to death. We've had so many good times and she makes me laugh. Her family is like my family. But.. sometimes I wonder if she is really that good of a friend. She can be very brutal. She has bluntly told me before that "She's better then me" or "Did you really think you were going to out-do me?" She even lies to me to make herself look better, and when I find out she denies ever saying anything, making me look like a fool. Or recently when we had a family crisis and I had to miss two weeks of school to babysit I called her to grieve and she didn't even ask how I was.. she talked about herself. I just blow these things off.. but sometimes they add up and I get really depressed. When I try to tell her how I feel she acts as if I'm overreacting, laughs, and changes the subject. I love her to death and I don't know what to do.. I don't want to ruin our friendship - but I don't want to end up hating her either.

Best friends are usually honest with each other. And if you cant be honest with her, then she's not really your best friend.
And in reading how she treats you, it's time for a REAL best friend.
The very next time she hurts your feelings, do NOT blow it off.
But rather let her know how you feel. Do NOT allow her to change the subject. Make your point very clear to her. You cannot ruin something that you dont have. ;)

umm... ok toughy... Wellz. you can always speak up and for example you can say "Can you please be in better help? i really need you but you seem like your life is better than mine. I feel like im always the fool in life and your the one that is the queen. That you always have to treat me as an under study. That you have to treat me like I'm your slave and tell me things that aren't true and that you regret saying any thing. I'm getting tired of it. Your making me so depressed. I love you to death but it just that you hurt me so much than i can love you. Can you please help me instead of just saying things that you don't mean. I was gone for like two weeks and what did you do talk all about your self." Wellz something like that. Thats what i would say at least. Speak your mind to her. And if she gets mad and walks away. say " I thought we were friends the best of friends. Why do you have to be like this?" and then if it doesn't work. Try making it up to her. Say something like " i know that i might of hurt your feelings but have you ever thought how mine were? That how you repeatedly hurt mine terribly?" Then you girls will make up ... Good Luck!!! = )

Start backing off slowly. If she is truly your friend, she will ask why. If not, then find another friend. No matter how good of a friend you think she is, the friendship is not worth all of the heartache you are going through.

If she's really your "best" friend, then why can't you tell her?She may appreciate your frankness and change her ways.Maybe she doesn't realize how bad she is.And maybe you need better friends.

wow sounds like someone I know. It's like any other relationship. Unconditional love. If you don't like how she treats you or what she says; speak up.
