You could try saturating it in cooking oil - that could lubricate everything up enough to get it to loosen up. Then there'll be the fun of soaking the oil back out, but hey - knot gone! :)

As long as the needle is through the knot only and not through the thread, try to work a second needle through the same path as the first needle by keeping the tip scraping against the side of the original needle and following it through. If you are able to do this simply work the 2 needles apart and together, taking care not to break the needles, until loosened. If you are unable to work a 2nd needle through, depending on how fine the thread and how large the original needle, you could try actually threading the needle with the end of the thread and pulling it through. If this is possible be careful you are pulling it through the right place and not just making it worse. If neither is possible, pull the blinds up all the way, attach a new string SECURELY at the uppermost point, then you just have to get the knot to go through the small hole once where it will forever after stay inside the window although you may lose half an inch of the blinds being all the way up.

If you have one needle in the knot use another needle to pull at the strings around the knot. Make sure the first needle is not through the string.

I have got alot of knots out of fine chains for my mother and I find that if you roll them back and forth to try and loosen up the knot then try to untie it. It always worked 4 me.

put ur fingers on either side of the knot and jiggle it until the knot gets loose. then after that, it should be all yours.
***by jiggle i mean softly so that you don't make the knot tighter***
