Yes, even the poor wore hats but most poor wore a single hat their whole life, unlike others who could afford more than one. The hat was of formed felt or straw, much like it is today.

The men wore hats, but most often the women, girls wore scarf's. Poor people did not wear hats, but scarfs. If hats were worn, they were made out of wool, or cow hides. Some straw. Scarfs were a necessary piece of clothing.

lol, most didnt wear hats, but the ones that did it would be pretty much the same style as the rich, only with very cheap materials.
