Well in England, everyone hates American accents for being whiney and everything, and cringe when one comes onto the telly, but when americans try to immitate ours, it is a bit offensive, and pathetic that they are trying to grab our culture to seem more interesting by theirown. it is equally pathetic that some scottish people i know practice their accent in the mirror every morning so that they still sound scottish and interesting to everyone else. i wouldnt do that, if i went to america, id b proud of my southern english accent, yet still wouldnt go out of my way to try to keep it, as that probably would be necessary.
