You stop worrying about what people are saying about you.Focus on your studies and if somebody's giving you a hard time, tell your councilor at school and they'll be disciplined about it.

Confront them and tell them that there is a time in everyone's life when lying about someone else is the wrong thing to do...and that age is 5. If that doesn't work then all you can really do, besides dropping to their level and being a child also, is have faith in the people that are hearing the rumors are adult enough to know what is b.s. and what isn't. If they are childish enough to believe everything that they told without any proof then you don't need to be around them. Find new friends that don't play games.
The last time that I had to deal with this kind of thing, I ended up losing my job and several friends in the process of trying to correct a bad rumor that had started. Later, I was vindicated because after I had left, the person that had originally started the rumor began running rumors about another person. Everyone around began to see the truth and soon figured out what was going on. I was asked to come back to work and recieved apologies from many of the people that I worked with but I didn't go back. The person that started the trouble was fired later that month. So, in conclusion...lol, you can confront them or just let it work it's way out. Either way try to be a better person for it and don't stoop to the level of the antagonist.

You can't stop the rumor mill. But you can use it as a positive thing. The people that won't take the nasty gossip as the truth and will still talk to you and hang with you are your true friends.

My advice is don't worry about what other people think. You can't control it and all you can do is control your own words, actions, thoughts, and feelings.

Be true to yourself and you have nothing to fear.

All you can really do is stay true to yourself.

There is ALWAYS going to be rumors about somebody, whether it's good or bad.
Ignore the rumors as long as you can. If people confront you, answer them truthfully. If they don't believe you, who cares?
You know what the truth is...

College doesn't last forever and your true friends will stick by your side.

Well rumours happen every where, it is too difficult too ignore them but this seems as the only possible and plausible way. If you go on clarifying further less people believe you.

Nasty rumors about myself were the last thing that I was worried about when I was in college. You must be one of those lucky souls that don't have to worry about coming up with that tuition.

Welll there just rumors... that's just it... there just rumors. Don't believe what they are. who are true friends won't believe them. I'd set my day's to what I got to do in the morrning, not careing for those who make the rumors, and seting my plans. I would let people set thier ideals of what I am, I wouldn't want to go around saying, "IT'S NOT TRUE!!!" I would rather have them make thier own minds. they'll come to understand that rumors have been spread, and that thier not true, cuz they befriend'ed you. Relax, do your thing, don't let something like this get in your way. It's something to make worse of if you coil in it's wrath.

Are you serious? High School tendencies are still going around in your college? Usually they stop @ high school... but anyway, confront whoever believes the rumor as true and set the record straight!

while human beings unfold rumors approximately me, I in simple terms bypass approximately my daily corporation and not probably difficulty approximately what human beings i don't comprehend are asserting approximately me. If somebody asked me if a rumor is actual approximately me, i'm honest and that i you're able to be a marvelous person to whoever asks me approximately it. i'm not probably courageous sufficient to be confrontational to human beings.
