Renting a residence in Dubai (UAE)?

I would like to travel to Dubai and investigate apartments for rent. Where to start my research before I arrive there?

well for me im constantly looking for rent in dubai,the best place is to try the local newspapers, my personal favorite is gulf news, and they also have an online website gulfnews.com for rentals too, its the best one it also has all classifieds and properties for sale too. but let me tell u renting is very very expensive especially in dubai what used to be 50,000 dirhams, is now double the price all of the prices have gone up, a second option to renting in uae, is to live in sharjah, its more family oriented beautiful views calm, and cheaper rent, but traffic is the worst of course in this country going and coming to dubai.

This is very difficult. The UAE is a very odd country when it comes to rent. I'd look at some websites and get ahold of a reputable company, talk to someone who is from the same country - or close to it - as you so that they understand your needs and specifications better. There are many beautiul apartments here - some with square footage larger than many homes. But unless you're here, it is difficult. Just remember that pictures can be deceiving.

u can find lot of adds in local news papers but i doubt if u can book anything from overseas. try short listing a few agencies or contacts before arriving here.
u will have to book into a hotel for fewdays and then shift to where ever ulike on findings a right place .
