compared to any latin American country the US is way more evolved and progressive in that way ,,we welcome all cultures and races and try our best to create equal oppurtunity,,,these hispanics from other countries have a highly ethnocentric mentality,,,they don't even see that as a negative trait,,,as long as you think thier culture is the greatest one,,then you can be as open-minded as them,,lol,,,they fail to see thier hypocrisy,,,

Racism is a sport on countries like Mexico and Peru,,,they treat indigeanous people and black people like dirt and aren't even shy about it,,,,,a lot believe the white man is the devil,,,literally,,,and they will say it to your face if they are in the mood,,without feling any guilt or shame, they live in an old world mentality and they have the nerve to call the US a racist country

I've lived in Mexico and Peru for 3 years

there are more cultures represented here than any other place in the world, learn some tolerance and learn some english

History... We killed the Indians and the ones that escaped extermination were put on little tracts of land. Blacks were put in chains and made to work in our fields, then when freed, they were still not allowed in our restaurants, and were killed frequently just for looking at white women, and Voting or education was denied untill fairly recently. WW2 saw "camps" for Asians even if they were NOT from Japan, but because they looked similar. We refer to Middle Easterners as Towelheads, and worse. Racism is still apparent in many places...try renting an apartment as a black in a white neighborhood...We ARE a very racist country.

You need an editor, just so when you're writing about discrimination you don't write things like:
" .. learn some tolerance and learn some english ...
and most of all learn some RESPECT."

But then again, one scarcely sees the mote in one's own eye.

You made 2 very large mistakes.

First, you say that "people" on this forum say the U.S. is a "very racist country." In order to oppose (?) that argument, you then cite people (Hispanics?) who say it, but are themselves bigots. How does that help your argument? Do you mean bigots don't know what bigotry is? Nonsense. Their hypocrisy is irrelevant. If a man who hates math tells you 2+2=4, don't dismiss it out of hand.

The second one I can attribute to youth, or a lack of historical perspective. When I was young, I remember the disgusting treatment of blacks in the U.S. - everything from lynchings, to the murders of rights advocates, to prohibting inter-racial marriage, to institutional segregation. AND MOST OF THIS HIDEOUS BEHAVIOR WAS LEGAL.

And before you camouflage the discussion with the " .. but it's a lot better now .." line, let me remind you that every single step in the direction of "equal opporutniy" was opposed by whole sections of this country - very often with violence and the backing of "authorities." Or did you think the U.S. woke up one morning and said, "Oh, let's be fair from now on!"??

No one is saying there aren't even more racists nations out there, but to say: "..we welcome all cultures and races and try our best to create equal oppurtunity,,," is more wishful thinking than reality.Yes, those Hispanics you speak of are hypocrites, but that is NOT the case for all Hispanics, or even all Hispanic cultures.

And by the way, I live in the most integrated part of the U.S., and it's not uncommon at all for a group of whites, when they are out of earshot of "minorities" to speak of them as if they were trash, or worse. Kid, you gotta get around more.

We invaded this continent to escape intolerance, but never became completely tolerant and accepting. There is a positive. That being the fact that the loudest voices that spew racist rants are a minority. They just spend much more time trying to be heard. I guess somebody has to use the slurs and profanity. Might as well let the racist nit wits do it. "thumb dummies".

hmmmm...Because we are! Think about it. We have all this security at the Mexican Border. What about our neighbors to the north? Are we building walls up there? NO!! Plus, in this country whites are at the disadvantage. There is not a single organization to further advance whites. If a black guy steals a car, it is just some guy stealing a car. But if a white cop uses force with a black suspect, it screams racism. Think about that. (by the way I am Hispanic)

Your very right. And other cultures do a whole lot of complaining over America, even the ones who live here. Yet,they sacrifice their lives to get here, just to complain. Were too this, were too that. We are a melting pot of everyones culture. America IS a mix of race and culture. We cant be generalized into one catergory.
