Christmas is Christmas; this is a predominantly Catholic country, which has celebrated Christmas for nearly 2000 years.
No bodies ever complained before that their faiths being "upset" by people celebrating Christmas or putting a bit of tinsel up in the office!

The fact is that there is only one faith that would supposedly get upset. The same faith that occupies 2% of the population. Its never happened before because the do-gooders think another 7/7 will happen if we don't change all our traditions and lifestyle.
Thats why a woman in a full veil will be on channel 4 at the same time as the queen. Thats why you will have to cover up if you want to go to the public swimming baths at a particular time. Thats why Christmas is now Winterville. Its nothing about fitting in.
Do you really think the Muslims in our country would have ANY influence at all if it wasn't for 9/11 and 7/7?
No I'm not racist by the way! Just stating a fact!

Britain in my view has gone pc mad, this started when charity shops were told they couldnt display a nativity scene showing the birth of Jesus because it may offend non christians. Also kids at school weren't allowed to sing the nursery rhyme Baa Baa Black Sheep. The 1 thing that i deplored was when the World Cup was on we wern't allowed to be patriotic by flying the flag of St George, and St Georges Day not being a public holiday. Wales, Scotand and Rep of Ireland all celebrate their Patron Saint.

Also Councils have banned the word christmas and replaced it with Winterval.

This is not a predominately Catholic country, nor has Christmas been celebrated for nearly 2000 years.

Trust me Claire, the majority of Muslims really are not offended or "upset" by anything to do with Christmas. Asians have been here for generations due to the British Empire, and like you say, no one's ever complained before. If the country is indeed going PC mad then the only people who should be blamed are the out of touch politicians who enforce it.

Britain isn't a predominantly Catholic country. (In fact, I was under the impression that officially it's a protestant country, since the Monarch isn't allowed to be Catholic, but never mind).

It's true though that everyone seems to have gone PC crazy. I think it's the fear of being sued/accused of being racist that causes it, not any actual complaints.

We are all getting a bit fed up of all the PC stuff that is getting forced upon us. It is about time the PC Brigade was made to join in lessons Tony Blair wants the immigrants to do and learn what this countries traditions and cultures really are. You cannot turn the clocks back on history and I for one do not want too. This world would be a sorry place if it was not for the wonderful adventurers, inventors and such, we should be proud to be English,Welsh,Scottish,Irish, and Christian. and tell anyone who wants it changed if they don't like it.......tough we're British and want to stay British and have our cuulture and traditions not anyone elses.

Britain isnt predominantly catholic, claire. Ireland is. The people responsible for all this pc rubbish is the white liberal and ultra loooney left brigades. Other ethnic groups probably cringe when something is done in their 'interest'. They know it does nothing but achieve the opposite.

Call me cynical but perhaps the governments attempts to show 'respect for others' faiths by banning traditional festive practices is a moderately veiled attempt to offend and anger british christians( practicing or otherwise) thereby perpetuating cultural discord in order to justify political action that continues to opress and marginalise minority groups. Does anyone really believe that politicians want true integration?

The PC dictators are crypto fascists who stir up racial hatred and wish only to see a war between islam and the western world. These people must be tracked down and sent to prison for life.
