I would very much like to get more details on that research.

The study had a group of hetorosexual men surveyed as far as how homophobic they are, and then hooked up monitors to their penises to see if they get an errection while watching gay porn. The study concluded that homophobic men were more likely to get a physical response.

Does anyone know this reasarch and know where I can find the primary source?

Yes. In 1996 University of Georgia reseacher Henry Adams used two groups, one that expressed homophobia and one that didn't, then measured the circumference of their penises while showing them images of heterosexual and male homosexual sex. The non-homophobics did not show any arousal, while the homophobics did.

If you're thinking such a study would prove that these men are closet gays I think it unlikely. More likely, rather than proving that they are attracted to other men it proves that they "get off," get their kicks from just thinking about gays and how much they hate them. They are not being aroused by the gay porn but only by their own hatred. They are habituated to hate and aroused by it. They are "hate addicts" in the truest sense of the word.

I don't know where to find it but you can try googling it. I've always suspect that the most homophobic men were just big, self-loathing closet queens. Most truly straight guys don't make such a big deal about or really care if someone is gay.

the story is actually another gay urban legend. I mean, what kind of straight man would Volunteer to watch gay porn., Either they were all gay or its bs but I've never found proof that such a test existed.

I had not even heard of this study but I will most definitely be looking it up. If I find it before this question gets resolved I'll edit my answer.

the same areas of the brain for arousal are stimulated when a person encounters something they fear.

Try the book 'Alice in wonderland'!!
How could a homosexual act which makes most 'normal' people physically sick cause sexual desire?
Did you know that in a recent study conducted by Dr Charles Greenwood all men that 'mince' along the side walk holding hands in public , were all mentally stable??? No? neither did I , I just made it up.
