My daughter asked me to get the old photos out of the loft (we have loads that may be alright, but not really good enough for the album, being badly composed, too small etc. - I'm a pain in the neck perfectionist, I admit it!) For Christmas, she gave me a framed composite of loads of them, assembled to make a brilliant record of the last 20 or so years
Personal, thoughtful, inexpensive, looks good. Perfect.

This year I made craft kits for all but 2 neices and nephews out of shoe boxes. Inside I put markers, crayon, water paint, chalk, beads and buttons , etc. They each got note paper and doddle pads. Plus some other goodies to use their imagination. Also I wrap each shoe boxes with a brown paper so that they can design each of their boxes. I also so plastic canvas, and give gift from the item I make. I will be having a full website. the address is geocities.com/grubbcrafts. until its finish you can check out my other site at geocities.com/wldfireflower6969. If you looking for a good pattern try freepatterns.com they have a few different types of crafts. Hope this helps

I'm a fabric-holic and this year everyone will receive a fabric present. I made pillow covers for my nieces, a quilt for my sister, an apron for my mom, and a covered photo-album for my grandmother. I looks fantastic! Especially the album is great, and so easy to make!
Check out instructions here:

Other ideas not using fabric would be personalised mugs/placemats (very easy to make by laminating posters/photos), mousemats (use an old mousemat and change it around using a photo or a poster and then stick see through sticky plastic on top), and of course jewellery! Beads go a long way :)

I make butterflies out of empty cans, they are great hung outside around fruit trees as they scare the birds away because they flash in the sun as they move and they are just adorable. Use the lids for the wings, 2 small and 2 slightly larger then a piece if can that goes under these wings to hold them together, you will need thin wire for sewing them up, hammer and nail to punch holes, make little legs and curly feelers, way cool and simple, that the idea you can work it out from here, once you make one and get it right then its simple to whip them up when you have a couple of empty cans.
