the PS3 sounds and looks better, but it is a bit expensive.
the Xbox360 is moderately priced, and the games are pretty good.
the Wii is cheap, and it has gotten alot of praise.

i am saving up for a PS3 just because i love sony and every console they have come out with has been exellent, but i will agree that it and all the other consoles have their strong and weak points.

good luck deciding.

Depends what you want really. I used to be a console gamer but since the age of 19 I moved on to PC gaming because I find that using a keyboard and mouse is much more reliable than using a game controller. That said, I can easilly back that comment up by saying that if you were to play say, Unreal Tournament on console and I use a PC, I would wipe the floor with you and you probably wouldn't even be able to get many shots in on me, if any. Now, to address your question in some detail. Tthe Wii's controls come close to matching that of a PC, but still aren't quite there yet. XBOX 360's are basically computers in the design of a game console and do the same thing as PCs. And the PS3 is way too expensive and in my opinion isn't worth it because the PS2 has a wide variety of games for everyone, and you don't need a brand new console to play the best games. So my suggestion would be this. If you like a lot of fun all round games, go the Wii. If are seriously considering an XBOX 360 you should be invest your time and money into building a gaming PC because it's basically the same thing. And if you can afford a PS3 there is no reason you shouldn't be able to buy a PC for gaming purposes. Avoid the PS3. I'm not saying this because I despise PS3, I'm saying this because they are way too costly and again, you'd pick up all the games you want on the PS2 anyway. Your choice in the end though. Hope I have helped you.

Wii is only good for if you really like those old school games such as the ones on the Super Nintendo. So I am going to compare the XBox 360 and the PS3.

PS3
Pro:
1. High Processing Power(good graphics)
2. Free online play
3. A few good exclusives

Con:
1. $500-$600
2. Because online play is free many 3rd party games will not support online multiplayer.
3. PS3 has lost a few 1st and 3rd party publishers and developers.
4. EA has claimed that it is harder to port games to the PS3 because of the Blu-ray technology. They stated that it will take a lot longer to port Crysis to the PS3 from the PC. So some game companies may not want to go through the hastle of porting their games over to the PS3.
5. Doesn't come with HD cables
6. Blu-ray takes up 2-4 times more space on a hard drive than regular format.
7. It will need 6 months to a year to work out all its bugs
8. If there are problems with your console, its on you.(Sony has proved in the past that they will not replace or repair reject consoles without having to pay $150-$200.
9. Can only play certain PS1 and PS2 games.

Xbox 360:
Pro:
1. Great Graphics
2. Xbox Live is better than ever
3. Super comfortable controller
4. Has gained many 1st and 3rd party publisher and developers.
5. Great games
6. Bugs have already been worked out
7. Peter Jackson(director of Lord of the Rings and King Kong) will be working exclusively with Microsoft.
8. Metal Gear Solid 4(the PS3's killer app) has been rumored to be coming to the Xbox 360.(this months issue of EGM)
9. Microsoft may be trying to by Capcom(Resident Evil, Dead Rising)
10. Great accessories
11. Can play Xbox games
12. Exclusive content for GTA IV

Con:
1. $50 dollars for Live, but is totally worth it.
2. Can't play all Xbox games, but most of the good ones are playable, and more are becoming available.
3. HD-DVD player is extra, but is one of the best looking
HD-DVD players out there.(in my opinion)

The PS3 may have slightly better graphics, but the 360 is better in almost every other way. Besides most game companies don't take advantage of the power of the systems. Just like the last-gen games, no one showed the true power of the Xbox until Ubisoft unleashed Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

I think its kind of like the difference between Plasma and LCD. Sure the Plasmas(PS3) look better(not much better), but they also don't last as long and have a better chance of getting a picture burnt in on the screen. While the LCDs(Xbox 360) are cheaper, look great, have a less chance of burn-in, and are slightly more compact. The LCD's have more bang for your buck.

I believe the ranking will come down to this

1. Xbox 360: because it has been out the longest and has already built a nice sized fan base and market as well as it has secured dual rights to games like GTAIV and Assassins Creed with PS2. It cost $350
2. Nintendo Wii: because it is an unstoppable machice of joy and happiness(aka. Great gameplay with great games) and it cost $250
3. Sony Playstation 3: because it cost $600 and has not true exclusive major titles besides Final Fantasy or anything major from Square Enix.

The Wii is better because of the new style of gaming. It has a more intereactive way of playing. Instead of just using the bottons on the controller. You could wave your hand and it moves a sword or racket of anything else on the screen and believe me it works. So if you want to just play bottns then buy the other two but if you want a new way to play then buy the Wii. Also the price is better at the price of $250. So if it was me then I would buy the Wii.

I like PS3 and Wii... I have never liked any Xbox, the controls are so hard because my hands are so small.

Matter of opinion man. Seriously. If you like Nintendo Franchise games go to the Wii. If you like Halo games, X-Box is your system. If you like stealing cars, killing people senselessly, unoriginality for the sake of violence and paying too much for a system... the PS3 is yours to own.
