My son duct taped a basketball net to the wall of his bedroom (about 20 times). There's a lot of gummy residue on the wall. How can I remove it?

You can you one of two things they work better then goo gone! First you can buy this cleaning stuff in store called orange glow or orange oil, and the second thing you can do is take the peel of an orange and squeeze the outer side of the orange together to get the orange peel oil! Then you put the oil or cleaner on the ducktape and rub it in, scratch with a fingernail if nessecarry! Then wipe away with a cloth or paper towel! Enjoy not having ducktape on your wall anymore!

It can be removed with an acetone, but this will remove the paint too. If the wall is painted, then you just have to be patient and remove it with plain soft and water.

You can buy VM&P naphtha at the hardware store and use that. I refinish furniture and it won't touch the finish or the paint. Don't use so much that the cloth is wringing wet, and don't rub hard. The adhesive will dissolve instantly.
