I think they generally believe it when they say it. Obviously some people just say it to get their own way, but when you really love someone it means a lot to say I love you...and hear it in return.

Tough question. I would have to say that I leave them to their opinions because there was an incident where... well, let's say she lost the baby "accidentally" and turned around and married my best friend a few weeks later, having been friends with him for a lot longer than I.
Therefore, due to those circunstances, I will doubt my ability to love anymore. To all else, good luck.

Well I believe my hubby, we've been together 25 years and I know when he says he loves me, he means it with all of his heart, some people just say it without meaning and that's when I don't believe they mean it.

well if family says it...then ya. If friends say it....maybe it depends on how close you are to them. If it's like a boyfriend then probably no....I always think if they say they say they love you...what if its one of those "in the moment things" they love you now but will they love you tomorrow or the next day? I no its kinda bad or cold but thats what I think

Well it depends on how long you have known each other. I tend to think people that say I love you that aren't family or friends. Or haven't known you very long at all, Can be needy, or maybe the stalker kind.

I believe my family when they say it but i think it i used to much by people who don't really mean it, and when they say it it just sounds fake.

Yes, I believe that love is not a concrete thing, but something alive, it changes over time and can last just seconds, and as something living it can also die......
