Whatever you do, don't douche! It will dry out your natural moisture and leave you prone to a yeast or bacterial infection.
Yeast infections occur when there is an overgrowth of yeast. When you douche and strip away the bodys natural yeast, your body will produce more than needed, thus leaving you with a yeast infection.
Bacterial infections occur when there's not enough yeast. Yeast help neutralize bacteria and germs. Excessive douching usually leads to bacteria infections.
Your best bet is a mild cleanser and a washcloth. Avoid heavily scented soaps . Stick with unscented (I like Dove Sensitive) Also avoid using body puffs. They are a breading ground for germs (think about it..they sit in your warm, moist shower and are never washed). Make sure you rinse and dry really good before putting on undergarments to avoid trapping in moisture.
One more thing. If you trim the hair in that area, try not to cut off too much. Your pubic hair also plays a role in keeping out germs and bacteria. I would definitely recommend trimming it up a little though, because its cleaner during menstruation.

just hot water and washcloth... douches wash away the bodies defenses against yeast and other bacteria... also, this sounds weird but, rubbing in some plain yogurt once or twice a week 5-10 minutes before you shower actually helps introduce the probiotic beneficial bacteria known as, acidpohilus... it helps fight yeast infections and other things... search and read up on it on the internet so you don't think I'm just some perverted guy with a food fetish! LOL!

just use a womans cleanser like summers eve sensitive skin feminine wash its a cleanser for your vagina not a soap. body soap and body wash can leave your skin irritated and dry. but this wont. and dont douch it can cause bacterial infections i use to douch and i kept getting them didnt know why until my dr told me it was from douching and i will tell you having your stuff smell like fish isnt pleasant. so what ever you do dont douch. it pushes bad bacteria in to the cervix and the only way to get rid of it is getting antibiotics for it. but the summers eve cleanser is a good product ive been using it over a yr now and havent had any infections not even a yeast infection and it only costs 3.00 a bottle. hope i helped.

plain warm water and a washcloth. A lot of over the counter cleansers not only dry but can cause yeast infections.

as the others have said, soap and water in the shower. i was was wondering if this happened during or after taking antibiotics. my wife had this happen and she was told by our doctor to eat yogurt while taking antibiotics to help prevent yeast infections.

In the shower, use a plain soap or the unsecented Summers eve femenin wash.
Out of the shower, a washcloth with water works very well.
