i need to find a preservative for a gelatin mixture, i am making some ballistics gel and i need something to preserve it for at the most 2 months. i can't freeze it and i can't find oil of wintergreen. i have heard that sugar or vinegar will preserve it. will any of them work? if you know any where can i get it?

I would not recommend sugar or vinegar. Propylene glycol, Sorbitol and Glycerin have all been used successfully.

Oil of wintergreen can be found at pharmacies and in the spice section of many large grocery stores.
