the best and only way to avoid viruses and worms is NOT to open attachments in e-mails no matter who they are from
people don't know they have a virus or worm on their computer so when they send you e-mail with an attachment they also send you the virus/worm too

Install a descent firewall. Do daily virus and spyware scans. Watch what sites you go to. Do not click on ads. Stay away from pornograghic sites.

Never connect to the internet and never allow anyone to insert a dick in one of your drives..... short of that never open email attachments
