Diffusion only.
When you take a breath O2 travels into the aveoli(a unit of a lung). In aveoli there is a big concentration of O2
Red blood cells that are in the vessels around aveoli carry excess of CO2 so they "dump" CO2 at lungs(which they have very little of CO2) and pick up O2 because RBC are in demand for that gas. No ATP is used for that process.

So the oxygenated RBC travel to the different types of tissues.. Tissues are always in the demand for O2 and they have excess of CO2 due to the metabolic activity so RBC will give the excess O2 to tissue and pick up CO2 from that tissue.

Through diffusion, osmosis or active transport. This is the movement of molecules from the region of their higher concentration to a lower concentration.
